You want to know how long the monitoring company has been in business. Tip #5 - Check the contract details Before you sign any contract carefully read over the entire document, at best in your own home away from the pushy sale man. Make sure you understand all of the conditions, requirements, and exclusions.

If the salesman will not let you read over the contract, walk away from them.
