If you like to shop, then the Gold Coast makes it easy for you to shop 'til you drop! Pacific Fair is one of Australia's largest shopping centres, and certainly one of its most attractive with leafy walkways and lakeside restaurants, including the Larger shops such as Myers and Target and Kmart for your specials. Marina Mirage overlooks the magnificent Broadwater, and contains a heady mix of imported and local designer fashions and accessories, cafes, art galleries and casual dining. Broadbeach boasts the Oasis Shopping Centre, which is right in the middle of this attractive dining precinct.

Cavill Avenue is right in the heart of Surfers Paradise, and has been the hub of Surfers for many years now. Especially for those who love the Night life. Go searching, and you'll find boutique lined boulevards, shopping centres and duty free shops. If you're looking for one place to shop in Surfers, then visit Cavill Mall. It contains dozens of cafes, eateries and bars; you can find something you like no matter what your taste or budget.

The Gold Coast is also a market lover's paradise. The Carrara Market is the biggest market in the southern hemisphere, with an almost endless selection of crafts, leather goods, novelties, food, books and rides, suiting all members of the family and new cafes popping up all the time in air conditioned comfort. Friday nights from 5.30pm to 10.00pm in Surfers Paradise there's a beachfront market. You will also find markets at Burleigh Heads, Broadbeach, Jimboomba, Coolangatta and Tamborine Mountain. Jump in your car, there are many car rentals for every budget, Head inland from the Gold Coast, and within a few kilometers a magical world begins to unfold. There are tropical rainforests, mountain villages and many other hidden treasures tucked away in the hinterland and track for 4wd enthusiasts. Visit Mount Tamborine, Lamington National Park, and the peaceful environment at O'Reilly's where feeding the birds is always a fantastic photo opportunity. There are lots of walking tracks for you to explore, allowing close up access to the natural beauty. The National Parks give you access to lots of special destinations, including Witches Falls, Border Ranges, Mt Warning and Nightcap. You can find maps at the National Parks to show you where the best walking tracks are located, and you can choose one based on your level of fitness. There are also day tour companies that conduct guided walks through the rainforest, often including a visit to a natural swimming hole.

If you'd like to see some native animals up close, then visit Currumbin Sanctuary. It contains the largest collection of native animals in the world. You can feed the colourful lorikeets, have your photo taken with a koala's and kangaroos, see fresh waster crocodiles, walk amongst the kangaroos, or look a Tasmanian devil in the eye. Even better, it's all within their natural environment. The staff are most friendly and encourage many photo opportunities along the way, with many characters there to amuse the children.
